the whipping knot

difficulty | ●●○○○
style | minimal, clean, utility-inspired
placement | end finish, bead lock, tension point

a tidy little wrap that locks itself in place. it’s quiet, useful, and just feels good to do.

step 1: Fold your rope into a long reversed “S” shape. Place the charm at the top of the curve, with end a positioned below and facing toward you, and end b above, pointing away.

step 2: Take end b and begin wrapping it tightly around the folded section, starting from the left and moving slowly to the right.

step 3: Continue wrapping in the same direction, stacking the coils neatly side by side. Make around 7–10 turns, depending on how thick you want the knot to be.

step 4: To finish, thread end b through the small loop near end a.

step 5: Pull end b gently to tighten. This secures the structure in place.

tip: adjust the tension evenly so the wraps look smooth and clean from all angles.

the double overhand knot

difficulty | ●○○○○
style | functional, minimal, knotted finish
placement | end cap, stopper, or anchor

simple, sturdy, and quietly beautiful. this is a classic knot that does exactly what it needs to do.

step 1: Take one rope with end a on the left and b on the right. Use end b to form a large loop, crossing it over end a, then threading it up through the loop.

step 2: Bring end b over the loop again and thread it up through the center one more time, this creates the "8" shape.

step 3: Pull both ends gently to tighten the knot.

step 4: You should now see a clean, symmetrical figure-eight locking everything in place.

tip: this knot works great at the end of any loose cord. perfect for a simple, polished finish.

the loop knot

difficulty | ●○○○○
style | simple, looped, fast
placement | loop ending, anchor point, visual stop

a quick, easy knot that creates a stable loop. perfect for hanging, attaching, or just tying things up in a clean way.

step 1: Fold your rope in half. Take end b and wrap it over and around a, forming a loose loop.

step 2: Continue by bringing end b over itself again to create a second loop. Now thread b through both loops you just made.

step 3: Pull end b all the way through and tighten gently. You should now have a small, secure loop locked in place.

tip: this knot is great when you need a quick and reliable hanging point, with no extra hardware needed.
